Hey look at me

One small tattoo on the chest and I look totally different! ;-) Looks like I lost weight… Well, you know health and body building is a new hobby of mine. Have been trying a couple of different diets and training shedules the last years.
Gonna rate them for you here:
The Master Cleanse 2/5 Helmets
This is a 10 days fasting without food. You drink 1 liter of salted water each morning, which you after 5 minutes shit out with whatever you got left in your guts. Then you live on a mixture of water, lemon, jungle syrup and cayenne pepper.
It is effective if you wanna loose weight fast. I looked like a a concentration camp jew after those 10 days. Had a shawed head back then too. Can I recommend it? No. I believe the whole cleansing bit is bullshit and it’s bad for you. Can only recommend it if your an actor who needs to get in shape very fast for a film role.
But! I do believe fasting is healhty in this over eating society of ours. More on that later. My advice; do the fasting, skip the cleansing.
Raw food 2/5 Helmets
Try eating only fresh vegetables, nuts and fruits for a couple of months. I did. It’s actually a big community. But, it was too difficult for me, tended to get boring and I do think it makes you weaker in the long run. Especially if your a regular at the gym. And you live in a cold place like Sweden. You can do it, but you’ll be forced to eat tons of bananas every day and make shakes. How fun is that?
What I did learn from this experience was an understanding that juicing vegetables + an apple can be very healthy and definetily tasty. Dark green vegetables are really nutricious. So my advice: just add more dark fresh greens to your diet. Like spinage sallad! Cabbage. Esparagus. Brocolli. What’s wrong with the diet is it contains too much fruit and the sugar they contain. As well a lack of protein and fat.
The Anabolic Diet 3/5 Helmets
It’s a training diet that works like anabola steroids but you get it the natural way, without side effects. On week days you eat low carbs, low sugar, high fat. Lots of eggs and red meat. Then on weekends you eat lots of carbs instead to “fill up” for the training week ahead.
This was my first experience with low carbs, but I wasn’t able to do it because I didn’t have a kitchen back then and at the office kitchen there was no fan. My colleagues didn’t want to have a smell of fried meat hanging over them.
Found it kinda scary to eat so much eggs and fat. I thought fat was dangerous (my fear of eating fat is now gone btw). When I got my kitchen back in the apartment, I was about to try it again. On a blog about the diet, I instead found:
Hollywood Physique 4/5 Helmets
Found this website called Hollywood Physique. A 3-6 months transformation based on Hollywood actors training shedules. You only train the 20% of muscles that are most visible. And you eat like a cave man. Low carbs, beef and tons of eggs. I ate 11 eggs per day. And similair to the Anabolic Diet, I instead had one hour per weekend where I could eat as much carb/sugar garbage as I wanted. Pizza, donuts, chocolate cakes, chips, etc. Another difficulty was no alcohol during 3 months. No milk or cheese products.
This method is probably the most effective program you can find, to get in shape fast. But I have come to my own conclusions about the diet…
Eat Stop Eat 4/5 Helmets
Read this book that a friend emailed me. It’s about intermittent fasting. It showed tons of scientific research that fasting isn’t dangerous. The whole deal, that you should eat 5-6 times per day have always troubled me. Can’t imagine we humans are built like that? We have been hunters and gatherers for millions of years. The whole concept of eating that often is stressful.
Intermediate fasting is that after dinner, you don’t eat until next dinner tomorrow. 24 hour fasting once or twice per week. That’s it and you’ll start loosing fat. There is no “starvation state” that your body goes into. It’s a scam to make you buy more crap.
So with this book, I’m no longer worried at all about not eating 5-6 times per day. I eat when I’m hungry and sometimes I’m gonna do a 24 hour fast. That is, if I ever would like to cheat with my LCHF and eat a tasty pasta and beer abroad.
LCHF (Low Carbs High Fat) 5/5 Helmets
Here comes the winner of all “diets” I have tried. It’s not actually a diet, it’s a lifestyle. It’s the understanding that your body isn’t designed to eat THAT much sugar and carbs. So you replace it with fat. I read the book called Matrevolutionen (Food Revolution) by Andreas Eenfeldt, swedish doctor and author. The book presents scientific facts, tests over tests, that eating fat and skipping carbs is good for you. It is the natural way to eat. The farm industry and industrialization is puking out two money bringing poisons of todays society; sugar and flour.
So while training, I just skip the carb up and eat more fat instead. And if I don’t feel like eating breakfast, I just skip it and have brunch instead of lunch.
